October 4, Day two in the Serengeti. Between Ngorongoro and day one, we had seen lots of animals. The plan for today was “let’s go find cats.”
This sort of explore is easier said than done, but it is an excuse to get out and see other areas. So, here are some pictures on the search for cats:
Elephants in the dawn haze.

Lots of beasts, no lions….

Jumbo size lion food, too calm for lions to be around.

No lion is going to sneak up on me.

Hey buddy, seen any cats?

too smart, or too bold….

Not a lion.

Not a leopard.

Lions were here last week, you just missed them.

Nope, not a lion. just lion food.

I see no lions….

No lion is going to mess with my family.

And then after seven and a half hours, Frank yelled “LIONS!” and pointed to the right. Under the tree were three lazy lionesses.

The secretary bird took notes, and then continued on.

Time to go home….a long and successful day.
